Concrete tabletops Brisbane

Custom concrete tabletops designed around size, support and use

A concrete tabletop is a made element, not a generic slab. Dimensions, thickness, reinforcement or support design, openings, edges, finish, sealer, weight, handling route and final use should be resolved before manufacture.

Dynamic Concrete Solutions creates selected custom concrete tables and surfaces for Brisbane residential and commercial projects in coordination with the client, builder, cabinetmaker or responsible designer.

Design brief

Details that affect the finished concrete surface

Dimensions and template

Record the final length, width, thickness, tolerances, wall conditions and whether site templating is required before production.

Support and loads

The base, cabinetry, frame, spans, overhangs and fixing method need to suit the tabletop. Structural or unusual loading should be resolved by the responsible designer.

Openings and edges

Sinks, taps, services, cut-outs, drainer details, radii, corners and edge profiles should be dimensioned and coordinated before casting.

Finish and variation

Colour, aggregate, exposure, texture, sheen, pores and natural tonal variation should be agreed through suitable references or samples.

Sealer and use

Food contact, coffee, wine, oils, cleaners, heat and outdoor exposure require product-specific sealer and care information, not blanket stain or weather promises.

Handling and installation

Weight, stairs, doorways, lifts, access route, lifting points, trades, site protection and final placement can govern feasible size and programme.

Written scope

Coordinate the tabletop with the rest of the project

  • Approved drawing, template and dimensional tolerances
  • Base, support, fixing and installation responsibilities
  • Openings, edge profile and visible faces
  • Concrete colour, aggregate exposure and sample limits
  • Sealer, finish, product limitations and care
  • Expected natural variation, pores and repair treatment
  • Delivery, access, lifting and site readiness
  • Handover, cleaning and maintenance instructions

Care and performance boundary

Concrete character does not remove the need for product-specific care

Concrete surfaces can show tonal variation, pores, fine marks and changes with use. Sealer choice affects appearance and resistance, but no surface should be presented as immune to every stain, scratch, hot object, impact or weather condition.

Use the documented cleaning, contact and maintenance instructions for the selected sealer. Trivets, boards and prompt spill cleanup may still be appropriate. Any cutting, grinding or polishing of silica-containing concrete also needs current exposure controls.

Concrete tabletop FAQs

Questions to settle before manufacture

Can a tabletop be made to any size?

No. Size depends on thickness, support, openings, weight, handling, access and design. Large or unusual pieces may need jointing or professional structural input.

Will the colour match a sample exactly?

Concrete contains natural tonal and aggregate variation. A sample can guide the intended family and finish but should not be treated as an exact batch guarantee.

Is sealed concrete stain-proof?

No. Resistance is specific to the selected sealer, substance, contact time, maintenance and condition. Product information and prompt care still matter.

Can a concrete tabletop stay outside?

Only when the concrete, support, sealer, drainage, joints and exposure are designed for that location. Outdoor suitability should be agreed in the written scope.

Is it maintenance-free?

No. Cleaning and periodic condition review are required, and any future recoat should follow the sealer supplier's compatible preparation instructions.

Who supplies the base or cabinetry?

That must be defined for the project. The support needs to be ready, dimensionally correct and capable of receiving the tabletop when delivery and installation occur.
